Aptara Appoints New Chief Technologist
Batra to Lead Development of Global Technology and Customer Integration
July 24, 2006 – Aptara, the global leader in integrated content transformation solutions, today announced the appointment of Gurvinder Batra to the new position of Chief Technologist. Batra, who has worked for Aptara since its founding in 1988, previously served as President of Publishing. In his new role, he will be in charge of aligning the development of innovative technologies with the business demands of the company’s customer base.

During his 18 year career at Aptara, Batra directed the implementation of a front-end XML workflow process—a first for the print and electronic publishing industry—to better ensure high-quality content production in a variety of formats.
The appointment of Batra to Chief Technologist is a critical part of Aptara's overall market strategy to provide the highest quality content transformation services to its customers. In this new position, Batra will also work internally with the senior executives and the technology team to recommend modifications to workflows and introduce leading technology into the production process. He will be based out of Aptara's headquarters in Falls Church, VA, and report directly to the CEO, Ranjit Singh.
